Huntsville, Texas has long been known as a prison town. Along with the headquarters of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice located in Walker County, seven prisons are also in the area: the Eastham Unit, Ellis Unit, Ferguson Unit, Goree Unit, Holliday Unit, the Walls Unit (Huntsville Unit), and the Wynne Unit. Grace has active ministries which reach out to the offenders and correctional officers at two of these facilities.
In addition, Grace partners with TDCJ and Carnes Funeral Home to help families affected by the death of offenders and executions.
