As I was praying about who God would have us to bring in for our annual Thanksgiving Banquet, I learned about a family of young people with bright smiles, a good attitude, and a sweet sound. I heard they were going to be at a church, not too far away, so I made the trek to go hear them for myself. I listened, tapped my toe, smiled and enjoyed the music for the first half of the concert, then they took a short 5 minute break. That's when it happened; we scheduled The Doucettes Gospel Bluegrass Band to join us for our Thanksgiving Banquet. Invite a friend and come enjoy great food, fellowship, and sweet southern gospel music.
General Douglas MacArthur, supreme commander of the Allied occupation of Japan considered himself, "a soldier of God as well as of the republic." He believed that democracy rises out of Christianity. He so much believed this that he pleaded with Christians to send 1,000 missionaries to Japan.

A few years ago I returned to my hometown of Vincennes, IN. Sure I caught up with friends, ate at my favorite restaurant, Bobe's Pizza, and showed my family where I grew up, but no return visit home is complete without stopping by the old school house and saying, "Hi," to your favorite teacher. Whether it be elementary, intermediate, middle school, junior high, high school or college, we all have our favorite teachers. Sunday October 8th we at Grace are going to honor those favorite teachers. All teachers in attendance (active or retired) will be recognized, given a special gift, and provided lunch. Invite your favorite teacher to join us for Teacher Appreciation Day.
In northern Iraq, radical Muslims (ISIS) spray-painted the Arabic letter ن, or “N,” on the homes and businesses of Christians. The property owners were publicly identified as Christ-followers and given a choice to convert to Islam, leave or die. The courageous believers refused to deny their faith, and more than 100,000 fled with little more than the clothes on their backs.

A stranger came into the old abandoned church and saw what was once the verse Proverbs 29:18 in wooden letters above the pulpit. With just the first letter of the first word missing a "W," the sign now read, "here There Is No Vision, The People Perish..."
